It arrived really quickly and was packaged really well in bubble wrap and boring packaging to keep it as discrete as possible; the paddle itself was inside in just a plastic wrap with the tag attached to a hanging loop on the leather covered handle.
The Jack Boot paddle wasn’t as large as I was expecting, for some reason in my head I had imagined it to be a huge heavy paddle and although it is still impressive looking it is not as big as you might expect, the boot print measures just 10inches, the paddle measures 18.5inches in total.
The paddle has two usable sides, the obvious side is the one with the boot imprint on it, this is made from rubber and is surprisingly gentle unless used with real force, the rubber actually adds some sort of padding to the paddle and I was shocked by how been struck with it made me giggle until he actually hit me hard with it, the paddle didn’t leave a boot imprint on me, my partner feels that to be able to do that you would have to do a single very hard strike, something that he wasn’t prepared to do, but repeated strikes leave you looking very red cheeked and the sting has a lasting effect.
The other side is smooth bamboo, this has a real sting to it, more painful than any other paddle that I have used, on a similar level to the cane that we have, it is a really hard sting, the wood is solid and has no give in it at all, and it hits the skin with a real slapping sound, I would advise against using this side if you are in anyway new to spanking play.
The handle isn’t very long, it is padded out with some leather and there is a hanging loop/wrist loop on the end so you can make sure that you get a good grip but my partner thought that the handle could do with been a little more substantial for the shape and weight of the paddle.
Overall we found the Jack Boot Over the Knee Paddle to be a very good paddle, we both enjoyed using it, me receiving and him giving, it gives a good impact and leaves a good sting and mark behind, it is more than capable of leaving a boot print when used in the right way, but the smooth side is much more painful, a great paddle but not for beginners.
